2. Data We Collect

We collect personal information at various points on the site:

Contact Form — full name, email address, and the content of your message.

El Jangueo (our community space) — country of origin, country of residence, your response to the open-ended prompt (your story, what you miss, what you love about your culture, your thoughts), and your name or email address if you choose to share them.

Subscription with a welcome offer (discount pop-up) — first name, last name, and email address, in exchange for a possible discount on your first purchase.

Site navigation — basic technical data (such as cookies) that may be generated through the normal operation of the site.

We do not ask you for any financial information, identification documents, or sensitive information.

3. Purpose of the processing

We use this data to:

• Respond to your questions or requests submitted via the contact form
• To better understand our community and tailor our products, content, and decisions to what they tell us
• To send you the corresponding discount code and, if you authorize it, marketing communications from La Catalina (news, new releases, newsletter)
• We may eventually feature your response from El Jangueo as part of our content (social media, website), in accordance with the terms described in Section 4

4. Marketing Communications and Public Use of Your Responses

Newsletter and marketing communications: If you provide your email address (for example, in the discount pop-up), we will only send you marketing communications if you expressly authorize us to do so. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in the email you receive.

El Jangueo’s Responses: We may use and publish excerpts from your response anonymously (without your name or any information that identifies you) without requiring your prior authorization. If you want your response to be published with your name and country, we need your express permission. Without that permission, we will never publish your response in a way that could identify you.

5. Your Rights

In accordance with Law 1581 of 2012, as the data subject, you have the right to:

• Access, update, and correct your personal information
• Request proof of the authorization granted
• To be informed about how we have used your data
• Withdraw your consent and/or request the deletion of your data, provided there is no legal or contractual obligation requiring us to retain it
• File complaints with the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC) regarding violations of the law

Some of our forms are processed through external platforms—for example, El Jangueo uses Tally (tally.so), which acts as a data processor and may process your information in accordance with its own privacy policy.
